Otto Teele: On LCIs

Mr. Teele was assigned to an LCI (landing craft infantry) in WWII, a transport with a very narrow hull that barely made survived the trip from the US to England. Later, he was part of the assault on Omaha beach, where the blood soaked the water.

Lawrence Bott: WWII Veteran, part 2

Mr. Bott served as a medic with the 3rd Infantry during WWII, and talks about his experiences in this clip. He was part of the D-day invasion, and made his way into Germany before being captured. Audie Murphy's regiment bailed about Mr. Bott when they captured a small German town.

Donald Jakeway: WWII veteran

Mr. Jakeway was with the 508 parachute regiment, 82nd Airborne during WWII. A quiet, unassuming gentleman, Mr. Jakeway modestly talks about his medals and honors, including a Bronze Arrowhead, awarded for his effort in D-Day when he parachuted at night behind enemy lines to help the invasion.

Don Jakeway was a paratrooper with the Army, and survived against long odds. His company started with 130 men, and by the end of the Normandy invasion it was 39.

John landed at Utah Beach at around 2-3 in the morning as part of the Normandy invasion.
Tom and Patrick Kennedy: Operation Tiger

Tom (the son) and Patrick (the grandson) talk about Joe Kennedy, who operated the USS LST289 during Operation Tiger, an exercise leading up to D-Day.
Operation Tiger was a catastrophe, made worse by the fact that the Army needed to keep details about it from the public eye because of the secrecy of the upcoming invasion.
Marion Gray: Medic

Marion, a medic in WWII, talks about his experiences with the 29th Infantry, which was part of D-Day and the capture of St. Lo. Marion wasn't even supposed to be part of the medic crew that took care of wounded on the beaches of Normandy; the higher-ups thought that Omaha beach would be taken so quickly that Navy medics would take over.
John J. Day Jr: Combat Fatigue

John was part of the Normandy invasion, and had talked about his terrible war experiences in a previous segment. In the video, he further describes how he suffered for a long time from combat fatigue - later to be known as PTSD.
